HSE Accreditation removed

Due to recent changes put in place by the Government following an independent report on Health & Safety Laws it was decided that HSE will no longer be required to formally approve First Aid training. As a practising and fully approved HSE Training Centre since 2009 Premier Training Services would like to summarise for our customers how these changes will affect First Aid training provision in the future.

We would like to assure our customers that it is very much business as usual and that, even though HSE will no longer be accrediting the First Aid training provided through Premier Training Services, we will still continue to operate to the exceptionally high standards that were required of our Company in order to both meet the requirement of becoming and also continuing to operate a HSE g Approved Training Centre.

The best way for businesses to ensure that they continue to receive high quality First Aid training is to use a reputable training provider that they can trust to deliver good standards of training. In order to assist businesses n this way HSE has created a due diligence check list which is available at their website detailing and advising what commissioners of First Aid training should be looking for when choosing their training provider. The points covered within the due diligence check list incorporate those that former HSE Approved training centres were required to comply with before being approved by HSE for accreditation. Therefore our customers can be assured that we already, as a Company, not only comply with this but also in many cases exceed these requirements.

As a responsible training provider we ensure that all trainers are fully qualified and possess the correct qualifications and training experience to operate safely as First Aid trainers and assessors. Additionally we have a full monitoring and quality assurance system in place, reinforced by previous HSE compliance inspections and ensure that all of our training meets the currently accepted First Aid practice. Syllabus contents are regularly checked and verified as those still required to be used by HSE and we also comply with the certification procedures of candidates attending our training courses.

For further information please see the due diligence checklist which can be found upon the HSE website www.hse.gov.uk

Existing qualifications will remain valid until the expiry date shown on your certificate and qualifications should still continue to be updated after three years. However, previous HSE recommendations that First Aiders should attend a First Aid Skills annual update are still recommended.

For further information in respect of any of the above, or for assistance with either First Aid Risk Assessments or deciding the best course for your staff, then please contact us for an informal discussion of your needs.
