Issues to resolve - No official documentation in place at that time to support the expansion of the business.
- Phoenix needed to ensure that information could be provided to prove traceability.
- The Company needed to be able to show due diligence.
- A full quality management system was required to meet the above requirement.
Solution - We created a detailed quality management system for the Company, focussing on food safety from raw material intake, through to storage and delivery.
- We created a Hazard Analysis based on HACCP principles.
- We provided training to all members of staff, commensurate with their job roles and responsibilities.
- Fully trained staff to Level 2 Food Safety, and provided additional specialist training in HACCP, at Level 3, together with 1st Aid training, to key members of the team.
With ongoing consultancy support and training from Premier Training Services and as a consequence of the quality management systems and procedures now in place, these last few years have seen Phoenix successfully achieve and maintain BRC (British Retail Consortium) accreditation and also grown their Company operations from one product line to four. Due to these factors, Phoenix have also enjoyed an increase in their customer base, and benefitted from the increased the level of confidence that their customers have in dealing with a Company fully compliant with procedures and prestigiously BRC accredited. |
